Working on my !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! . Today saw new lower control arm bushings installed plus a nice set of M3 17" winter rims with Blizzaks. Normally you can't just drop M3 rims on a standard E46 sedan, but these rims are the same size all around and seem to fit very nicely. They are, in my opinion, a vast improvement over my factory rims.

Here's a look at them on the car installed. My car is actually still being worked on, so it's the best I could do for the time being in terms of photography.

I'm in the minority of people who don't like the E46, but those wheels make it look much better. Nice!

Thanks! I'm actually enjoying the car, but it's not exactly cheap to keep on the road if I'm honest.

I'm sure the driving aspect of the car is fantastic, it's the looks I'm meh about. The expensive running cost isn't a surprise. But hey, as long as it puts a smile on the drivers face it's worth it!

It does well in terms of driving. It's comfortable and peppy. I have a long way to go on it. I have a box of parts to replace various hoses and seals, etc...

From what I've heard, preventative maintenance can save many thousands of dollars on cars like these. Good job on that, keep doing what you're doing.

I'm in the exact opposite camp of you. I think the looks are fantastic; timeless, really.

The driving dynamics are also very good, but there's no real pizzazz to it. If you're the type of person that gets excited over car's faults, you'll be dissapointed, cause the E46 has few.

I own a E46 right now that I have for sale. It's a fantastic car, but it's not fun . That being said, I've never driven an M3

I've never driven the M3 either, but I've never heard one bad thing about it, and every good thing that said about it is usually something along the lines of "the best M3 ever made." I can accept that it's a great driving car, but for some reason I don't like the looks.

Cool! I happened to do the same thing last month for my friend's E39 530: swapped his style 82's for a set of M5 wheels (style 65) on a square setup. :)

Those are 18" if I'm not mistaken (unless theyre replicas?). Anyway, looks good!

Nope, they're genuine BMW M3 17" rims intended to be used with winter tires and chains in Germany. My sister had these and her staggered 18" rims. She moved her M3 to her house in Florida and gave me these. She put less that 1,000 miles on them. The rims are basically spotless and the tires look brand new.

As far as I know, BMW never made style 67 (which, oddly, referred to both the E46 M3's 18'' and 19'' rims - usually they have different style numbers) in a 17. Check it out, here is a list of every OEM BMW wheel: http://felgenkatalog.auto-treff.com/

Not at all trying to be jerky about it - I just know that there are some really top quality replicas made of this rim and I suspect that's what you have. Here's a link to some forumnerds discussing this very subject: http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum/showthre…

Either way, as I said before they're an awesome improvement over your other rims and the blizzak is a great winter tire (I had a set on my 335i and I liked them better than the Pirelli Sottozeros I have now on the M3).

My local BMW dealer confirmed they were factory and also said they'd fit without an issue. And you're right, they look cool. The original rims are ok, but just boring, plus my son bent one of them on a curb. Doh!
